Pragati Maidan Skywalk
is one of the most occupied space used for crossing, reaching out the metro station and simply walking. It has been conceptualized to help pedestrians along Mathura Road, Sikandar Road, Tilak Marg, and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, featuring multiple entry/exit points.
Since it is used by a large number of people, there is a need of a better signage design system for directing and comforting the users. The aim is to give a place a unified sense of identity and clarity in terms of navigation and identification of different spaces.

After understanding the perspective of different sets of people using the skywalk for variety of purposes including walking, jogging, crossing, reaching out the metro station etc. I tried concluding the need of the signages. According to the users, the skywalk is very monotonous. They find it confusing because of so many pathways and a good signage system would guide them and provide the required directions. Also, they find skywalk very quite and people do not get a sense of safety and comfort

Skywalk is generally used for reaching out to the metro station, henceforth I decided to keep the identity as of the Metro Station. In my research, I observed that the signages used at the metro station are simple, straightforward and clear.

Form Exploration

The exploration of the form were inspired from the metro logo that would help getting the visual identity in the space through signages. The forms were then defined and detailed in terms of signages.
